Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a thingus villain that, much like Sephiroth, wishes to destroy something sacred. The game, like Mer and Joe, goes into the past but instead of collecting and preserving them carefully, the thinguses are bulldozed and your memories are replaced with “good” graphics.

“A complete miss at what was compelling to begin with. It completely fails to reawaken any of the fascination of the original, and actually manages to diminish that feeling retroactively with how dogshit it is. It seeks to go back into the past, harness those kernels of gold, and turn them into shit.”
